Five hours of debate on dismissal of President Meta in Albania's Parliament

Under the decision made, the president's decree will be the first point of the agenda, and time will be divided proportionally.

The SP called for a debate Thursday to adopt the resolution on Meta's dismissal. In the motion signed by the SP group's chairman, Taulant Balla points out that the president's act is invalid, unprecedented and contrary to the Constitution, as, according to him, aims to prevent Albanian citizens from choosing their representatives in local government.

Balla said yesterday that President Meta's decision does not rely on the Constitution and is no rule of law. He explained that after the debate in the Assembly on Thursday, a parliamentary commission is expected to be set up to assess this president's decision and then held and hearings for his dismissal.
