Hahn called on EU ministers to immediately enable the launch of negotiations for Northern Macedonia's membership, and added that it would be an important signal for the entire region.
If it is about restarting dialogue between Serbia and Kosovo, they should see the two countries' investment in finding a political compromise. Otherwise they have no incentive. Everyone must understand how important it is to signal at one place in the interest of the entire region”, he said.
The enlargement policy and progress policy of countries in the European integration process will be considered at tomorrow's meeting of the EU Council.
He reiterated that if a country that has invested a large part in the European perspective and its leaders have shown courage in reaching a compromise is not given the country deserved, then the EU is losing credibility.
EU ministers will give recommendations tomorrow for the further steps of countries that are in the process of EU membership.
But according to foreign media reports, this decision could even be postponed again.
