Trump said that Rapinoe, who has scored two penalties in the match against Spain that led her country to the quarterfinals, must gain “before speaking”.
He later said he would invite the national women's football team even if they failed to win the World Cup.

Last night, fellow fellow Ali Krieger posted on Twitter that she was behind her captain not to visit the White House.
Alex Morgan, the well-known attacker had said in advance that she would not accept an invitation from the American president, as well.
“Mogan must never dishonor her country, the White House, or our Flag, especially since the country has done so much for her and the team,” had posted Trump.
“Be proud of the flag you carry. US is E GREAT.”
