The article entitled Albania is a mess of isolation and national, American and European flags as the decoration of opposition protests.
The Economist quoted opposition leader Basha as claiming he would not allow Albania to collapse into dictatorship again.
In this same article, the Economist also reflects Albania's history in its efforts to join the EU, stressing that even after receiving recommendation from the EC's progress-report, Albania did not get the approval of member states for the opening of negotiations.
Here The Economist has quoted Prime Minister Rama as saying he has indicated that part of this negative decision has been the governments of populist countries that oppose further EU enlargement.
