Moisiu called on political parties to reflect, while calling the opposition's decision to burn mandates and boycott the elections wrong.
Moses also indirectly mentioned Meta's successive decrees, bringing to focus the 2007 precedent, when he was president, saying he postponed the election date only after giving the Electoral Code right.
The elections have a defect for nonparticipation of the traditional opposition because the other opposition also participates in the election. To me it's a disaster. It should not happen, nor should the mandates be burned, nor should the elections be boycotted. We have elections every two years. I agreed on June 30th because failure to implement this date would set a precedent. I wish this situation would work out as soon as possible. Political parties already have a huge responsibility. I have the conviction that, at last, Albanian politicians have to move on. In 2007, I had no right to assess the previous decree without granting me this Electoral Code right. Only after giving me this right did I make another decree, said Moses.
