Nearly 10,000 people died in Kosovo for one year, Pristina leads

According to the AKS, a total of 9991 deaths were reported by family members and recorded during 2018.
Of this statistics, 8998 have died within Kosovo's territory, while 993 outside it.
According to these figures, 4959 males and 4039 women died during 2018.
42.9% of death cases have occurred in health institutions, while 55.3% have occurred at home and 1.8 elsewhere.
And according to the municipality ranking, Pristina is the first with the most cases of death. It has 25% deaths, Prizren by 10%, Peja by 6& and other municipalities in lower numbers.
Over 60 years old is the largest death rate, nearly 80%.
Violent deaths in 2018 have been reported 177 cases or 1.9%.
“Disaster 129 or 72.9%, suicide 27 or 15.3% and murder 21 or 11.9%. In disasters and murders dominate the age of 2049, both men and women, while in suicides dominate the age of 50 and more both men and women”, the statistics of the Kosovo Statistics Agency say.
