Health Minister gives Germans control of Kosovo hospitals

According to this deal, German company I The CME will be engaged in three main pillars that will directly affect the engineering of key management processes according to international experiences.

After the agreement was signed, Health Minister Uran Ismaili said that KKUK and general hospitals have had a serious lack of literal hospital management, in which patients, but health professionals themselves, suffered the situation.

Minister Ismaili added that due to the lack of harmonisation with international practices management of these key components for efficient functioning of hospitals has not worked.

“Therefore, the contract signed today with the German company will be key to helping us identify problems and create sustainable and internationally-based solutions”, said Minister Ismaili.

During the press conference, Minister Ismaili said that since we are close to a new phase, awaiting the functioning of the Health Insurance Fund, our hospitals should be able to contract with the Fund.

German Ambassador to Kosovo Christian Heldt said the German company will produce results in achieving a management of health institutions, while praising the ministry's personal commitment to improving the health sector.

The World Bank's Director for Kosovo, Marco Mantovanelli, expressed satisfaction with partnership with the MSH and Fund and added that the German company's engagement will be in the function of building capacity and managing health institutions, aimed at protecting Kosovo's population from large costs for hospital services.

Director of the German company I CME, Holger Michel-Springer, said happy that the German renome company has been entrusted with an agreement through which concrete results are expected in Kosovo hospital management.

The ICME, which has been contracted through the World Bank, will engage in three main pillars that will directly influence engineering key management processes according to international experiences.

The contract signed today is within the framework of the Kosovar Health Project with the World Bank and will last six months with the possibility of continuing.
