More than 50 football players and football fans from the western region of Uganda, Hoima, were on the overturned boat.
Witnesses said that overload and bad weather may have affected the accident as rescue teams continue their search for missing persons.
In 2016, more than 30 football players and fans were overthrown when their boat was sunk in Lake Albert.
Travelers were on their way to Runga, where a friendly match was planned. It is reported that the boat was overturned shortly after the departure.
A police spokesman said that fishermen who were near the site rushed to rescue people who were drowning and drew 32 live persons out of the water.
It has been said that during the fall of the lake, there were strong - smelling weather and that most travelers were not wearing life jackets.
Two similar cases of shipwreck have occurred in Uganda in 2015 and 2016. Boat owners in this country usually don't have enough vests for all those who board these vessels, writes “BBC”
