Reka: It's true that DUI proposed to me for ambassador in 2005, but there was no candidate more worthy of me.

Albania's first candidate for president of Northern Macedonia, Blerim Reka, has responded to DUI chairman Ali Ahmeti's statement, when he said that: “if the DUI had not proposed for ambassador to Brussels, Reka would not be here where she is today”.

Reka has claimed that it is true since 2005, it has been nominated for ambassador by DUI, but has added that the world had no more worthy candidate for that position.

When talking about the current race, Reka criticises DUI, who is backing the Macedonian candidate for president of the country, instead of coming up with its former nominee for ambassador to Brussels.

“ ... At that time, the Albanians were entitled to the post of ambassador to Brussels and given that in 2005, when negotiations were made on this post in the EU, I was the only professor of the European Union's teaching class, I was author of 19 books from the EU field, and I don't know what the ambassador should be at the time, with this professional and scientific preparation, which has to do with European integrations. Even now I say, neither have I been nor a member of DUI, and quite recently, if DUI says it was their proposal Blerim Reka, why the DUI did not come up with a proposal Blerim Reka for president of state, but supports Pendarovski, who is neither a member of them, but is a Macedonian citizen who is a member of the LSDM”, he says.

Otherwise, DUI has publicly come out in support of Macedonian candidate Stevo Pendarovski from the LSDM ranks.
