Kosovo Foreign Minister Behgjet Pacolli has said the process of the northern Macedonia's election race for president has gone smoothly yesterday, Klan Kosova reports.
Pacolli, through a post on the social network Facebook, has said he expects that in the second round of these elections Albanians are expected to join in supporting that candidate who guarantees no return to Euro-Atlantic integration of the Republic of northern Macedonia.
“E assess the calm development of the presidential election process as well as the partial local elections in the Republic of northern Macedonia. This process marks a further step in the democratic maturity of this country. Albanians enriched the political offer with Professor Blerim Reka's candidacy and with the support of a consensual candidate”.
“Now is the time that in the second round, on behalf of advancing their status within the constitutional framework, Albanians will come together in support of that candidate who guarantees no return to the Euro-Atlantic integration of the Republic of northern Macedonia. Thus, Albanian votes will weigh more and they will increase their political burden within institutions as equal citizens of the neighbouring state”.
