Political analyst from Northern Macedonia, Xhelal Neziri, has said that between two candidates Stevo Pendarovski, supported by LSDM-DUI and Gorgana Siljanovska-David, backed by VMRO- The DPMNE will hold a strong race in the second round.
“After an equal election outcome, I think that Albanians' vote will be determining in the second round how much they will achieve is another issue. I think it's going to be a tough race, but in the end, Albanian voters will say it because the difference between the two candidates is only 4,000 votes”.
Neziri at Info Magazine in Klan Kosova has said the surprise of these presidential elections in northern Macedonia has been the low voter turnout, especially those Albanians.
Whatever questions the cepcus is mass abstention they have not been convinced to come out and vote. We have a record low on Albanians never recorded such apathy in Albanian voters, even though it was an Albanian candidate [Blerim Reka]”.
“Although it has been an Albanian candidate, it has been insufficient for Albanians to see an offer and come out to vote. Even in Macedonians, there has been a decline in an election ʹ the majority of voters who have given the vote have been motivated that candidate was in their ethnicity, rather than in Macedonian”.
It's hard for such a voter contingent to be convinced in the second round to vote for Macedonians, and that puts the second round” at risk.
