Minister Shala launches investment agreement with Qatar state

Trade and Industry Minister Andrew Shala has proposed today to the Kosovo Government the approval of the Ministry of Trade and Industry initiative for negotiating and preparing an agreement between the state of Kosovo and Qatar for mutual investment promotion and protection.

Minister Shala has stressed that the purpose of this agreement is deepening economic co-operation between the two states.

“In order to promote and create favourable conditions for promotion and protection of investments, where each contracting party promotes and encourages within its territory investments from investors of the other contracting parties, and in the same way will accept these investments in its territory in accordance with its commands and regulations”, Shala stressed.

According to the minister, this agreement will contribute to the development of economic relations between Kosovo and Qatar, which will affect increased mutual co-operation, beneficial, commercial, economic and will simultaneously provide investors of the two countries with security and guarantees that their investments will be protected and fully handled by the law.

The mutual investments will help the two countries' economies, especially Kosovo, which is already on the road to overall development”, the minister Shala has declared.
