Limaj: Serbia has given us signals that it is willing to negotiate tax

The tax imposed on the goods of Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina may not be the only reason why the dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia remains. Reasons for failing to start dialogue are also being seen in domestic elections in the European Parliament. But on the other hand, Serbia has given signals to negotiate the tax. So expressed, [...]
Thus expressed, the co-chairman of the Kosovo Negotiator Team in the talks in Brussels, Fatmir Limaj, who says that despite circumstances, the European Union is interested in continuing dialogue.
Limaj in an interview for Online Economy has not given the deadline for when the Negotiator Team can travel to Brussels, but has said they will wait and prepare until the moment for dialogue comes.
“As you know the problem continues to be Serbia's conditioning for the tax. Now our position is clear, we are now working as a delegation to be ready always. The European Union has been very interested in continuing dialogue, the problem is that Serbia still has its condition. We're also in a situation that the European Union has their internal electoral processes, so we're in constant contact with Mogher, see how events will develop. Even money can happen, it is the agenda of dialogue is one of the EU priorities, the Kosovo- Serbia and can happen at any time to resume dialogue and we are interested as soon as I start”, Limaj told Online Economy.
On the other hand, Limaj has said Belgrade is interested in negotiating the tax, according to him, has such signals, but Kosovo does not remove it without certain demands being met on Serbia's part.
I think there are signals from Belgrade that are interested in negotiating the tax, I'm talking about the conditions for halting Serbian aggression, removing many non-tariforous barriers that Serbia makes and presents to Kosovo citizens and business, are some topics that need to be addressed, and this would create an appropriate climate then make Kosovo step to suspend the tax. There are signals that they're interested in handling, at least so we have signaling to see how it's going to happen”, Limaj is saying.
Immediately after the platform's approval, Limaj says the State Delegation has created groups which are working and preparing materials, so that Kosovo will be ready for the final agreement through dialogue.
Limaj has said that on the issue of the undiscovered it is easier to obtain the facts and come to the negotiating table, but according to him, the most difficult is to provide documentation for sexually violated persons during the war.
“Organizations or institutions which for years have been dealing with specific topics such as for the missing, I believe that a big deal has been done in the past because the government commission to find out has all the documentation of the undiscovered, they've been constantly dealing with this subject and will be in service of the group for the unemployed. The issue of sexually violent survivors even then we've seriously begun to collect all the facts and evidence of what happened, but this is a longer process, and I believe we'll slowly have the necessary documentation because there's a difficulty because there's never been any serious deal with this” theme, Limaj told Online Economy.
Disgusting the selection of topics that will be addressed in Brussels, according to Limaj, may be on the Serbian side. He says Brussels has called for the concerns of both sides to be raised.
Rather, they have left the matter to the parties because the parties are the ones to freeze the topics they care about. Brussels all they do is gather those concerns and topics and then put them on the table to find solutions. I believe there may be reactions, so there may be reactions on some subject that Serbia has driven, but we are there for topics that are in interest and we believe that should be addressed by Kosovo”, Limaj stated.
Limaj says convinced that none of the topics raised by Kosovo will be cancelled in Brussels, saying that Kosovo's demands are not wishable, but issues necessary.
“No, the topics that we have discussed cannot be cancelled, are not these font of desires, are the necessary themes, are the themes that we believe that without addressing these topics we cannot have a comprehensive and final agreement with Serbia. The issue of the dead is not an alternative subject, the issue of the violent sexual violence is not a matter of desire, it's a fact that we're going to address, it's a great pain to address, the issue of war crimes is not an alternative subject, there are hundreds of massacres, you're seeing it from January to June, and we have every day commemorations of the massacres that have occurred in Kosovo, and they just want to address and address these subjects to help us reach a meaningful”, Limaj said.
Deputy Prime Minister Limaj has also commented on the reactions that have come after the employment that has been made as team Negotiator staff. He said the Kosovo delegation and the team itself, is temporary and its employee, are an administrative team.
For a certain moment and in these administration situations or crews that hold processes so far and documentation are a team for a specific time until the conclusion of this subject, of course you have your associates there who are 24 hours in service to that theme, we're talking about a particular immediate, short-term topic, we have lots of experts and advisers within the government serving the delegation, and we have external advisers, that's the administrative issue that people have worked with us and I believe it's a limited time, and that's the Deputy Prime Minister.
The ruling coalition, Limaj, has called it stable, while ensuring that the government will not fall, due to the tax.
The coalition “Partners talk about finding common position and now has different perspectives, but I believe it has the negotiating capacity within the coalition partners to have a common position as we have behind it in establishing the tax. The government could fall for non-employment and in the absence of votes in parliament you know what the government's path that falls”, he said.
The head of the Social Democrat Initiative has said that the Government is ready to provide responsibility for the major topics, so work must be done for all Kosovo citizens.
