Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister Fatmir Limaj has declared that the Berlin Summit, which will be held tomorrow, expects Germany and France to force Serbia to return to the negotiating table with Kosovo.
The state team's co-chairman for dialogue with Serbia has been criticised for bringing the European Union to Serbia, which according to Limaj is advancing towards the EU, though it has become an obstacle to the countries of the region.
“I hope that eventually these two countries, which have a major responsibility for the development of the European Union, will force Serbia to return to the negotiating table, the only way to know the reality. What we expect is that with us like Kosovo we cannot allow such behavior, see Serbia constantly works against European integrations, Serbia develops a regional policy against the ambitions of the countries of the region, it is a total decoupling of Serbia's actions with obligations towards the European Union, and on the other hand it is rewarded in advance towards the EU, while returning hostage to Bosnia, Montenegro, ”, he said, broadcast cp.
According to Limaj, the Berlin Summit is the best moment to show Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq that Serbia cannot move towards the EU without accepting Kosovo's reality.
“It is the last moment that Vuciki is a good moment where he can be shown clearly that his journey towards the EU can be done if he accepts Kosovo's realities as an independent state and does not prevent neighbouring peoples from moving towards European integration”, Limaj said.
Otherwise, the Berlin Summit, which will be held on April 29th, will unite Kosovo and Serbia's leaders at the meeting for the Western Balkans organised by German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Emmanuel Macron.
