Kukan criticises Mogher for dialogue: No Hope for Agreement

EU delegation chief for relations with Serbia Edward Kukan has criticised the Pristina-Belgrade dialogue mediator, Federica Moghrinin, saying the European Union has shown a lack of leadership in the leadership of dialogue. I apologize to Mrs. Moghrin, but Bea has clearly shown a lack of leadership in dialogue. Such negotiations can only succeed if you show that you are strong as a guide. The EU must be stronger in dialogue to predict events and reactions to them” well, Kukan has said.
Kukan, among other things, has shown that he is not very optimistic about reaching a quick agreement between Kosovo and Serbia. According to him, setting deadlines are not beneficial, even though it finds that “cannot be negotiated in the indefinite terms”.
He says the agreement will already depend greatly on the new administration that will be deployed in the EU after the elections.
Many will depend on the personality of the new high representative or representative, and on how I will take up his role in dialogue”, Kukan said, citing the fact that dialogue has already been blocked and that for a long time there has been long-standing EU reactions to improve the situation.
The former Slovak diplomat says it is impossible without external pressure and without EU leadership to move forward with dialogue between Pristina and Belgrade.
Kukan says the involvement of the Western Balkans in the European Union is necessary and that without these states it cannot be talked about Europe.
It has also conveyed a message to the countries of the Western Balkan region to try as hard as possible to reinforce reports with the European Parliament.
The involvement of the Western Balkans cannot be spoken of throughout Europe, but this is not the attitude of many of my colleagues here in Parliament, as well as many leading politicians in Western Europe. I believe the enlargement process will continue and that is necessary. As for the countries in the region, my message is that these countries play a very active role in establishing good reports with the European Parliament so that MPs will be willing to engage and support the” process, Edward Kukan has said among other things.
