20 thousand activists are expected to concentrate their protest in the east district of Friedrichshain, against the distribution of geerfificiation in the Berlin section where most of the new property developments are taking place.
For decades, International Workers' Day protests have focused on Kreezberg's southern district, with hundreds of demonstrators usually clashing with police, using Molotov rocks and cocktails as soon as night falls.
But in recent years, there has been an increase in efforts to highlight the districts that used to be behind what is known as the Iron curtain, in which the most drastic changes have been made in the last three decades, translate Periscope from The Guardian.
A special focus will be on Friedrichshain's Riggaer Street.
Four years ago, the area in this salary had been declared dangerous. Since then, police monitoring the district on a daily basis have had permission to stop people and control them.
Residents have often complained about this.
But since then, wealthy people have arrived, and a luxury housing project called Carre Sama-Riga has been built, which has revolted greatly at left-wing protesters seeking free and affordable residence for citizens.
Rents in Berlin are said to be getting more expensive than anywhere else in Germany.
One of the demonstrators' slogans will be “Against the city of the wealthy”. /Periscopi
