Veton Surroi in Belgrade: Who killed people? If we keep this up, we can get to degeneration.

Surroi spoke at the new conference “Paradigma for Kosovo and Serbia”, organised by the Forum for Ethnic Reports in co-operation with the Foundation for Open Society in Kosovo and Serbia.

When talking about dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, Surroi cited that dialogue is a protracted process that did not produce results. “Discuracy for exchange of territories was terrible for people. They all experienced the breakup of the former Yugoslavia and fear has entered our core. The idea that something bad can happen comes when the exchange of territories is discussed. We saw that. We saw it in Croatia, Bosnia and now Kosovo. When we hear the presidents in exchange of territories the first question on Kosovars is where the border will be, if this municipality goes or I go, this is psychic pressure on citizens in both countries”, Surroi said.

Commenting on reports between Kosovo and Serbia, however, Surroi said that even in Kosovo's interest it would have to be strong and rich Serbia.

Meanwhile, Surro's host, the chairman of the Forum Council for Ethnic Reports, Dusan Janjic, found that dialogue, for the time being, does not exist.
