The Court of Appeals, following complaints, has decided to amend the Act of Basic Court in Gjakova on 1911.2018, which had sentenced Noecan to only 24 years in prison for the murder of his wife, Valbona, and his 9-year-old daughter, KTV reports.
Praising it as inadequate punishment, the Court of Appeals has sentenced Noecan to life in prison, the ruling pronounced for the first time in Kosovo.
Appeals' reasoning states that the accused's “actions have been revived as grave murder and sentenced to life in prison”.
The Court of Appeals has estimated that the first - degree court has not correctly assessed all the serious circumstances.
In Apel's announcement, further, it is said that the proclamation of the unique sentence of 24 years in prison has not been adequate for the burden of criminal acts and the degree of criminal responsibility of the accused.
The Constitutional Court's decision had opposed Nocaj's defense and the Prosecution.
