Teachers today boycott the replacement of hours, the Parents Council: No kidding with kids

Teachers have not even gone to schools today, despite the Ministry of Education's call from today to begin replacing hours lost during the strike.

The call of school principals for positive instruction has only responded to students.

Kosovo Parents' Council Chairman Ymret Resiti has told Periscopi that parents have been disappointed by today's teaching action.

We have demanded that today the replacement of lost hours, as this is the legal and constitutional right of Kosovo students. This is a disappointment that we have not expected from our teachers. We have not believed that such a thing happens because even the SBASK has repeatedly declared to be working for the benefit of students, but today their work has disappointed us as parents. We didn't wait for them, instead of being in charge of the task they're paid for, they left students without a class, despite their struggle to go to schools”, Resiti said about Periscope.

For all of this, Resiti, besides the country, blames the United Education Union.

The state has failed to implement its decisions, in law enforcement, has failed to provide the constitutional right to student schooling. From the government, the ministry of municipalities, the state wanted because a union, a social organisation to come out of the law, is a case of the state and the elite of society, which call themselves a teacher”, has said further Resiti.

He has reiterated his stance that SBASKU is trade unions linked to the Democratic Party of Kosovo, so it pretends strong.

The number one problem was created by the Union. It is linked to the PDK, the ruling party that is offering protection. It stands strong because it has the backing of power. And we're disappointed. Parents call on the prime minister's government not to be kidding and to address this top priority”, Resiti has added in his statement to Periscope.

On the other hand, he mentioned the past two meetings of the Parents ' Council, in which a call has been made to replace lost hours.

In the February regular meeting, we have extended recommendation to the minister to replace lost hours. We have preceded the situation because most parents are interested in replacing these hours. The second meeting we held on March 7th, which we've asked the Government and the Ministry of Education to undertake the mechanisms and to implement our demand for replacements, due to problems we've had during March, as most schools have been boycotted. Two meetings -- two stances” -- said Resiti.

We remember that the Minister of Education, Shyqi Bytyqi, has once again urged all teachers to replace the hours lost during the strike, but the latter are obeying the United Education Union.
