Cardiosurgeons from Italy are staying in Pristina these days, and in collaboration with cardiosurgeons of the University Clinical Centre of Kosovo, children with heart problems are operating.

Cardiosurgeon at the Cardiodrogy Clinic, Arber Kutlovvci, praised the cooperation with Italian doctors. Kutlovci said that with their help, complex operations are under way at KKUK.

For us, the cardiosurgeons we work here, it's an extremely profitable job, because we think we're putting the bases of Cardiosurgeonedia”, he stressed.

According to him, all operated patients have been released home, with good health despite complex cases.

The cardiosurgeons want a great commitment of the entire team, not just of cardiosurgeons, but of all medical staff. We have a modest experience, which we're going to try to practice, then, after a while, we're going to advance it to the level that is cardiosurgeology to increase”, Kutlovvci said.

Italian cardiosurgeon Bruno Murzi has expressed satisfaction with working with Kosovo doctors. He said doctors in Kosovo are doing a good job, until he even spoke about operations, which are meant to be conducted by Friday.

We don't know yet. We'll have 5 or 6 operations by Friday. As you know, each of the operations takes between 6 and 7 hours, so it's not possible to perform one or two operations every day. But, so far, the Italian team's co-operation with Kosovo is very friendly and active”, Murzi said.

A team of doctors from Italy, led by Dr. Carlo Barzaghi and Dr. Maurizio Levantino, of the Toscana Hospital in Italy, assisted by cardiosurgeon doctors from Kosovo last week, have performed several operations on patients with cardiosurgic problems.
