Based on a tip released by the State Department, the purpose of the visit is to encourage both states to sit at the negotiating table to reach an agreement on normalising relations.
Serbia refuses to return to dialogue, as long as the 100 per cent tax on its goods is in force. The United States (SHBA) has demanded that the tax be suspended -- a demand that continues to be rejected by Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj.
