Amid discussions among European representatives, there have been clear differences in attitudes about the visa regime for Kosovo.
However, European Parliament rapporteur Tanja Fajon has said the European Union has failed to deliver on its promises to Kosovo.
The growth of radicalism is not about limiting travel especially for young people and visiting purposes. But yes, increasing radicalisation may be the result of Kosovo's isolation and despair, as the EU has failed to fulfil its” pledge, it has indicated.
Fajon has again mentioned that Kosovo has met all conditions set by the European bloc. Besides she said:
“...if you today say that Kosovo has not fulfilled obligations you are simply lying, you are being irresponsible”.
In addition to this rapporteur for Kosovo has said through a Twitter post that “Europe is losing credibility and Kosovo citizens are losing hope”.

After these discussions, the European Parliament is expected to vote on Thursday for the next steps of this process.
The visa liberalisation process between Kosovo and the European Union began in 2012. The European Union had urged Kosovo to meet 95 criteria to receive the positive recommendation for visa liberalisation by the European Commission.
Such a recommendation, the European Commission has made in July 2018, while in September that same year, the European Parliament had voted in favour of visa liberalisation for Kosovo.
In December of last year, the Council of Ministers did not put the visa liberalisation issue for Kosovo on their agenda.
Kosovo is the only country in the region whose citizens submit to the visa regime in the Schengen area.
