It is possible for Serbia and Kosovo to reach an agreement on normalising reports this year, and that depends on the political support leaders have in both countries, former US Ambassador to NATO and now special envoy for Ukraine Kurt Volker said.
Volker said there is no return to the past, and for both countries an agreement providing stability and European future is important. He says he has nothing against the idea of correcting territories.
The “depends on what the two countries decide. There is a rule, in co-ordination with agreement and other documents, and borders should not be changed by force, just as Russia was annexing the Crime. This shouldn't happen. But if the two countries agree to negotiations, like the division of Slovakia from the Czech Republic, we should respect it,” Volker told the Voice of America in Belgrade, Danas reports.
