The Kremlin has announced that Russia has withdrawn from the Nuclear Arms Treaty, which was reached after the end of the Cold War. Russia's decision came just a day after the United States withdrew from the same deal.
Russia's president, Vladimir Putin, has said his country will build new missiles. The United States has accused Russia of violating the treaty rules and for this reason has withdrawn from this agreement. Signed in 1987, the treaty forbade both states to use medium-range missiles.
Our U.S. partners have announced that they have withdrawn from the treaty and that this treaty is drawing us too. All our proposals for this issue remain on the table, and the doors for talks are open”, the Russian president said.
On the other hand, Secretary General NATO, Jens Stoltenberg, has said all European allies agree with the United States because Russia has violated the treaty for a long time. According to him, Russia is continuing to develop nuclear missiles, writes “BBC”
