His resignation caused many to question US engagement in Europe.
But White House head Donald Trump has not delayed the successor's name.
As Greek media instead of Wes Mitchell write, the former US ambassador to Skopje will come in 2008-2011, Philip Reeker.
He is known as a capable diplomat and very clearly knows the situation in Europe, and especially in the Balkans.
Reeker is considered a persistent diplomat and is very well aware of the problems the Balkan region has.
After leaving Macedonia in 2011, as Reeker points out, worked for two years in high positions at the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs in the UN.
From 2011 to 2017, Reeker worked as the general consul of the United States in Milan.
From 2018 to now, he has been working in the American military command for Europe in Staffard, Germany, China reports.
