Spahiu shocks the opinion: Osman general deserves Albania's independence, it deserves monuments

Nexmedin Spahiu, the controversial Kosovo publicist from Mitrovica, has translated an opinion from the newspaper “Politika” of November 1912, writes Periscopi.

Spahiu has said that Osman General Rauf Orby, with the warship “Hamidije” has forced the Serbian Army to withdraw from the beautiful port of Durres.

It was at the port of Durres that Ismail Kemal Vlora would land with the other delegates in a few weeks to declare Albania's independence. Therefore, it says in Spahiu's writing, this general deserves monuments in Durres and Tirana.
