Montenegro's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Srdjan Darnovolic, has estimated that Russia is struggling for influence in each of the Western Balkan countries, while stressing that the European Union is one of his country's real foreign policy goals.
On the other hand, he has also talked about resolving relations between Kosovo and Serbia, saying that only two problems that need to be resolved from the time of the former Yugoslavia remain inherited.
“One is the relationship between Serbia and Kosovo, the other is the stability of Bosnia and Herzegovina as a country that would go the same way as other countries along the European path, and if it wants Euro-Atlantic integrations. One and the other are difficult issues. We as a state support everything that brings peace to the region. We support any dialogue between Serbia and Kosovo. And this present one, it's kind of stuck. We've had our reservations in relation to the principle of resolving problems in exchange of territories, but if the two countries agree, we can only say hello. But, knowing the Western Balkans, we had our reservations on this matter”, Darnovoic said in an interview for the Voice of America in the Serbian language.
“Finally, despite interruptions, even in Belgrade and Pristina there are politicians who have indicated they can talk. There's no other way. We are in line with any peaceful solution and stability, we are here to support as much as we can, in accordance with our interests, of course”, has ordered the Montenegrin minister.
As for Bosnia, Darnovolic said he supports them in all phases of European stability and road. I think we should be patient and persistent here”, he added, broadcast Koha.net.
He also commented on the signing of the protocol for NATO membership in northern Macedonia, calling it extraordinary <x0 reports for the” region. /Periscopi
