He has said the laws do not allow the construction of hydropower plants in protected areas.

“Citizens should be concerned because we're assuming that they're trying to build a hydropower plant inside the Nemuna Bedke Park. The law prohibits this in protected areas”, Matoshi said at KTV.

“I don't think it's gonna be built. Or law needs to be changed, because national parks are not allowed. Residents have no reason to worry. I think their protest, however fair it is, is premature, because by no means, under any circumstances, can the power plant be granted permission in that section, or environmental permission. The law allows. We are told where to build. But based on what the head of Pec and the citizens has told me, if this investment falls within the territory of the national park can't access the equipment with a license”, he has declared.

Mattoshi said that until now The MMPH SCHA has received no specific request for the construction of any hydropower plant in Lumbardh in Pec.
