Since the establishment of the Kosovo Security Force 10 years ago, its relationship with the American Army has been questioned for the first time. Periscope days ago reported that the US after several decades is reviewing co-operation with the KSF, and all of this is due to the tax government has imposed on products coming from Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina in Kosovo. This 100 per cent share of these products, as a punitive measure for the lobbie Serbia is making against recognising Kosovo's citizenship.
KSF Commander Nundman Rama has confirmed the annulment of the visit of Commander of the National Guard of Iwa, Major General Timothy Orr, prior to taking place on the 11th anniversary of citizenship.
He has indicated that he was told openly that General Orr will not come in protest of the government's stance about the tax, information which the KSF commander also gave to Kosovo's prime minister.
But, Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj, as reported earlier, has denied today during the day to be aware of the annulment of the visit.
About 12m euros is the value of the Humvee military cars, the donation the KSF was expected to receive from the US Army in the middle of this year.
That fact has disturbed the KSF general, who, despite saying he would not want to make political statements, fears freezing relations with Kosovo's main ally.
Meanwhile, the KSF commander has confirmed to KTV that 25-year-old M.S., by Partesh, a Serb member of KSF who allegedly attempted to rape a minor.
The first pillar of the Force, the Defence Ministry, has already launched the transformation process, and in parallel it is working on the establishment of the Army General Staff, Koha.net reports and broadcast Periscope.
