With the biggest budget in its history, Kosovo enters new development stage
I welcome the second-hand adoption of the 2019 Republic of Kosovo Bill on Budget. With 2 billion and 370m euros, this is Kosovo's largest and most up-to-date development budget, which will precede economic growth of 4.7 per cent.
Education of around 300m euros and health at 234m are sectors that benefit most. Law rule and defence institutions receive increased financial support of 6% compared to last year's budget. More security and more protection for citizens as well as investments.
Capital investments increase by 11%, or 75 million in proportion to 2018, enabling the implementation of many existing and new projects, as a major boost to economic development and the private sector.
The means for increased basic pensions 20% have been accommodated, for those contributing 15%, as well as monthly pensions of 230 euros for victims of sexual violence during the war.
Congratulations to Kosovo this year of economic turn!
