In hand of 39 years of memories... it was believed that the end of the war gave Shaip Canhas the opportunity to live longer with his wife, but in 2000, Serbs killed him. It has been 19 years since Serbs killed him Monday, Remzie Canhasin, in what is known as the Fright Night in Mitrovica.
Nine more were killed, and 25 were injured.
Canhas, recalls the day his apartment, a year after the war ended, armed Serbs were introduced.
That day 84 years old was alone at home. Death as if it invited Remzie, who came from Vushtrria to be close to her husband on a day when rebel Serbs were driving Albanians out of the north and killing them.
Cahnhas says the goal of Serbs was to expel Albanians from the country's north.
Shaip Canhas says all this massacre occurred in the eyes of French KFOR.
A day after that event, southern Albanians had protested and clashed with French KFOR.
All of this is recorded in a Halit Baran film project.
Survivors of this massacre confess to this night's horrors.
And injured by French KFOR on 5 February, Adnan Bajrami remained.
In memory of post-war victims, on Monday at the culture centre in Mitrovica, an exhibition has been opened with photos of those killed and tortured.
Baran shows who was the host of this massacre.
That same day, about a thousand and 564 families were expelled from their homes.
So far, for this massacre in northern Mitrovica, no Serb has been convicted.
