Josep Borrell has taken over the position of the European Union's foreign policy chief, replacing Mrs. Federika Mogerini [Maghrini].
He has recently declared that there is no problem in the fact that Spain does not recognise Kosovo's independence in the position of the mediator of talks between Kosovo and Serbia.
In an interview for a Croatian newspaper called “Vecernji List”, Mr. Borrell also said that there will always be disgruntled people in this process if I know Kosovo, someone is disappointed if I know Kosovo, someone is again disappointed”.
The first thing I will do, as Kosovo forms the government, is visit to Kosovo, where I have never been. I will also visit Serbia, where I have been several times, in order to talk to both sides about the new approach to solving problems in the Balkans, which is one of our priorities”, Borrell said in this interview, as the newspaper Koha.net broadcasts in Albanian.
When asked if it was a problem he would deal with Kosovo- Serbia, since Spain does not recognise Kosovo's independence, Borrell voodoo: “
I don't act as Spanish foreign minister now, because I have new duties. I understand that people can come to the conclusion that if my country does not recognise Kosovo, Kosovars will not want me. Imagine, on the other hand, coming from a country that recognises Kosovo. In that case they would think Serbs would not be pleased with me. There are several asymmetries. I know Kosovo, someone is unhappy. I don't know Kosovo, someone else is disappointed”, European Union Foreign Policy Chief Josep Borrell initiated.
