“We are discussing several scenarios and my favorite scenario is building several new towns. The objective is to arrive at a reconstruction programme whose score will be national pride”, the prime minister said.
According to Rama, it will not be allowed to build the social dwellings of the type that we have known so far to be for the poor and that have been written on their forehead for the rest of their lives that are in the shelter of the poor.
We will build in Durres a whole new neighbourhood, which is Durres' most beautiful quarter after the years of '90s, the indictment. A new neighbourhood with infrastructure, sewers, aquifer, garden, nursery, school, public and residential facilities”,- Rama declared.
As for Tirana, the prime minister informed that a scenario is under discussion to build a whole new, large neighbourhood and a scenario to build two smaller neighbourhoods.
“We will lay this issue in a consultancy the Ministry of Culture is preparing with famous foreign architects and urbanists who have expressed willingness to voluntarily come to give us consultancy and very soon with decision”.
In the Kurbin area, Prime Minister Rama said, all the palaces we visited yesterday will be demolished. We'll build a new, small neighborhood, but with other whole parameters.
We are currently doing the necessary calculations. My ambition is to have a mid-term target of 10,000 apartments in general and a short term of 5 thousand” apartments, the prime minister said.
Because this way, Rama stressed, we can include not only those who are directly affected but others who are with social problems.
Rama also came, as it was, there is a need for a scheme not to make the mistake made in other countries in European capitals or cities, where construction of new neighbourhoods created marginalised, separate persons and created constant tensions.
These neighborhoods must be friendly, where social levels can be mixed, not just the neighborhood where the poor live.”, Rama said. /Attish/
