The paper through its sources shows what are the positions of states that have interests in the Balkans and their proposals. It also writes about the possibility of the unification of Kosovo and Albania by Albin Kurti's party, Kosovo reports.
Finding a final solution for Kosovo became even more complicated after Vetevendosje's victory, which is refusing to return to the negotiating table, if Pristina should make concessions, Danas writes.
“Vetevendosje is focused on uniting Kosovo and Albania, but it wants to be done slowly and carefully because it is not in the interest of the next prime minister of Kosovo to unite him with a country that has many domestic problems, including corruption and crime”, diplomats today said unofficially commenting on the current uncertainty of continuing Belgrade-Pristina talks.
According to our sources, Vetevendosje, which is not satisfied with the situation in Albania, will try in the near future, “through its branch in Tirana, to encourage Albania to move in a more positive direction and then consider the options of union”.
“, meanwhile, international actors continue to focus on the Kosovo problem, which they mostly make backstages. The United States continues to seek to oppose Russia's influence in Serbia by finding a solution for Kosovo. But the US approach is increasingly chaotic, given the conflicting interests within the United States and different views within the EU”.
“Finance wants to take the lead in resolving the Kosovo problem in order to demonstrate its national power, while the gathering of the new European Commission also requires priority in the process to show that there is credibility in international foreign policy. Meanwhile, Germany tries to convince the EU to fully rule out any possibility of partitioning Kosovo, for fear of destabilising Bosnia and Herzegovina and North Macedonia”, sources said.
Diplomats from several EU countries note that Western efforts to resolve Kosovo's “ ” are of great concern to Russia, which fears its position in the Balkans will be shaken, that is why the Kremlin is taking an increasingly active role in Serbia's” politics.
A rally called “Balkan dialogues” was held yesterday in Berlin. One of the main topics of talks, which took place mainly behind closed doors, was the possibility of “positive progress” in relations between Belgrade and Pristina. Participants included many politicians from the region, as well as diplomats from the US, the EU and Germany.
