Democrats in the United States are demanding that former national security adviser John Bolton also testify in the process of firing President Donald Trump.
He presented the request through a letter to the head of the Democrats in the Senate, Chuck Schumer. Except Bolton, Schumer also insists on the testimony of Mick Mulvaney, chief of presidential staff. The evidence already highlighted what is considered Bolton's doubts about the way Trump was putting pressure on Ukraine for personal political gain, the Democrats say. They say Bolton has, at one point, complained by saying: “I'm not part of any drug dealing that's cooking Trump's assistants”.
Mulvaney's testimony is also considered critical given his statement in October that there was really a pressure situation with Ukraine. The body administration “engriu” nearly $400m military aid to this country when it requested an investigation into Joe Biden. A month ago, Bolton, resigned from the important position of national security adviser, criticised the white house, saying that shortly after leaving, he had blocked access to his Twitter address.
Bolton, wrote earlier Bloomberg, would probably be called a witness, and no one knows for sure what that means. But many, meanwhile, show that he has long expressed his opposition to Ukraine seeking politically motivated investigations.
