Berisha: We want the Ministry of Culture to show that we have culture

In KTV's interactive, Berisha has said communities have sought to see the programme agreed on between the Vetevendosje Movement and the Democratic League of Kosovo. He has said it was a good decision that no communities have been invited to the talks, but has declared they have taken the pledge of Vetevendosje's Albin Kurti that they could add their points.

Even in the past, but even in this agreement with this government, we are only communities as additional deputies, but we are the third partner for government creation, and besides obligations that the Constitution has, we are trying to have a better position. Take responsibility. We are interested in participating in responsibility. We want to be part of initiatives and change in Kosovo. We're interested in being in a better position. While we're in government, we normally want to participate in the processes we're going through. We're in favor of the government, but we need to be treated as victims or as numbers. We're serious partners. We may also be opposition when we meet our needs and requirements. There is nothing wrong with being in the opposition now”, Berisha has declared.

We were part of a program consulting phase, which I think was wrong. In the past there was no program, like this model. It was just an agreement without a program. The communities are said to have a better position. We're interested in compounding with us. Have preliminary analysis and see that the incoming government has a program for us. Kurt said he had and also said that the program would be completed with the part of our program. We're gonna do this. It was irrational and we believe in government, but what if that program matches our demands. I know there's also a program for boards, institution management, and what if communities are part of these institutions. But we're waiting to see the program and we're going to show our position in front of these. They should be more of a partner. We're no addition to the state, but the property has been continued.

According to Berisha, restrictions on only 12 ministries are not favourable for communities. He has said it has added the problem of consolidation to communities to find the head of the ministry assigned to them.

“Confision in 12 ministries refers to a provision that if the government will have 12 ministries, one will have Serbs and another communities. If there are more than 12, communities belong to three ministries. Limitation to 12 ministries we see as excessive because we are 10 deputies of the non-Serb community and we have our consolidation problem. Fusion was done without us, and we sʹna have been given the opportunity to express our displeasure and it will be very difficult for us because they seek to lead the minister. It has to change here and we expect it to reflect on other positions, and especially on two deputy ministers”, he added.

Berisha has demanded that the LV coalition The V-LDK offers the Ministry of Culture “to prove that we have culture and are willing to work and prove that we know to lead”.

We've guaranteed and said we'd get into Government because it's our turn. It is constitutional that we all respect each other equally, not being against other minorities, but the practice has shown there were only two communities in government. We've been asking since it was a different vote, since we're two Egyptian deputies, we've said it's right and it's moral and legal that we're entrusted with a ministry this time. We've talked to others and they're claiming to lead. It's stuck in Mr. Kurt's hands to decide. When I've gone out publicly we've said we should lead a ministry, and we've taken many offenses and told us you shouldn't lead, you're more than to deal with garbage. This is just one reason to change people's thinking that we can do more. We want the government to give us support Kurti. Give us a right we were denied earlier. And it's also being said that they want to let us go to the Ministry of Culture, but that culture as a dictatorship can be removed because we can't manage. I'm calling not to be prejudiced with such shape. Give us faith. Give us a chance to testify. We've always proven this and given us the opportunity to prove ourselves. I call on them to leave us the component of culture because we have culture and we will witness it. If they give us faith, we will expect a final assessment. To give us responsibility and not judge us. We're part of the state”, he has declared further.
