Many are residents of Albania whose doors have been opened for refuge in Kosovo. Over 500 people have been accommodated at the Inovative Park in Prizren, while there are another 1500 who have been opened the doors from hotel owners, in private homes and schools.
It has been two days since Myrvet dressed along with his family has come to Prizren, as a result of the 6.4-magnified Riter earthquake that hit Albania. He for Kosova Prees has confessed the morning of that day, until he says they have witnessed death with their eyes.
Too bad, the first earthquake was especially dramatic. We live on the second floor, we've literally seen death in our eyes... since we've never experienced such events, we didn't try to get out, we just waited, begging God to end you, we couldn't get out. We were asleep and our cries were aroused. And it was four o'clock in the morning, and we prayed to God for it to end and to save alive, we didn't do any maneuver”, he says.
For four days in a row, he tells about Kosova Prees, that they had stayed with families in the car. And to calm themselves and the family, two days earlier they were headed for Kosovo. He had stopped at the Innovation Park, where hundreds of residents of Albania evacuated from the earthquake are already living. And since there is no more room in this park, which has already been returned to shelter for people affected by the quake, he has found peace with a family in Prizren.
We've been here before with my car. We came here, it was loaded, it was 40 families, it was impossible to stay, and the police drove us into a large hall. From there he came and picked us a family, we're located a little farther away from the camp, in a” apartment, he said.
The ear indicates that in the country where they lived in Durres, the object has suffered cracks. However, he says they will soon return to Durres to work and the children will continue learning.
I want to thank every citizen of Kosovo for their conduct, kindness, for waiting for the doors to open. I don't know how we would reward them for this. We were very surprised at the reception made”, he relates.
In addition, he shows that at an Inovative Park in Prizren, they have many family members, while adding that he is disappointed with the Albanian state, and does not expect to help after this tragedy.
Even his wife, Mynere Eari, says she feels better here, adding that their arrival in Kosovo means leaving the horror.
We've experienced very badly, so we've been left in fear. When we came down, we thought it would calm down, but the earthquake continued. We slept in the car, we just got here. I feel a lot more calm, we seem to be getting out of dread”, confessions Myner ear.
During the day, Prizren Mayor Mytaher Haskuka and Vetevendosje Movement Albin Kurti have visited Inovative Park.
Mayor Haskuka has said that Kosovo Prees is still in need of some things, however, added that those who want to help should communicate with the coordinator of the Inovative Park, Faruk Dakaj.
There are some things we need. For example, we had some donations yesterday and spread diapers and things women need. He needed some underwear, and we got them. But if someone wants to help, it is good to call the camp coordinator, he has the list of what is needed and what is not. In some cases people's excessive protagonism is negatively affecting, as we have not needed some of the things that have come and are now causing trouble even to preserve”, Haskuka said.
In the former KFOR military camp, now transformed into Inovative Park, over 500 people are sheltered until there is no capacity for others. However, the mayors have opened the doors for a large number of Albanian residents who have come to Kosovo.
There are about 2 thousand people in private homes, hotels. We've got high school, which doesn't meet the criteria, I've appealed to the government to get us a place for these 100 people in the high school room. I don't think it's basic conditions, there's no beds and there's no adequate bathroom”, Haskuka claims.
Since Tuesday morning, Albania has been hit by several earthquakes, one of which caused much material damage in Durres and Thuma, taking the lives of 50 people and over 900 are injured.
Otherwise, earthquakes have continued during today, while Albanian authorities have warned earlier that the homes of all who have been destroyed will be built.
