In organising Democratic Youth in Pristina, where dozens of blankets and other elementary things have been collected, Wessel said that in these difficult moments for brothers in Albania, all should stay close in various forms including institutional aid.
Wessel announced that they are in intensive contact with Albania's institutions for help as he encouraged all citizens to help the initiative.
The Republic of Kosovo is taking every action to overcome this earthquake situation in Albania. Kosovo institutions have already only sent KSF forces, police have allocated a 500 thousand-euro aid to families of the hit. This PDK Youth Action here branch in Pristina, but everyone in Kosovo is very welcome. Encourage all citizens to help you with what they possibly can, said Wessel.
And PDK Youth Chairman Donjet Bislimi said party offices have opened throughout Kosovo and will wait until 8:00 to send aid to areas where the situation is most difficult in Albania.
“Today in Democratic Youth of Kosovo at the country level, we are organised into a humanitarian action that we have felt as a moral, spiritual but national duty to come to the aid of brothers and sisters who are experiencing difficult times in Albania. Today our offices are open to collect help in terms of clothing, blankets, food aid, whatever citizens can help. We are here today at the Pristina branch where in an hour, a large number of citizens have responded, as can be seen here in the collection of aid. We plan until 8:00 p.m. to collect as much as we can then take to the city of Durres”, Bislimi said.
In addition to Kosovo's Democratic Youth, the aid initiative has also had from the Vetevendosje Movement and several other civil society organisations.
