The head of the State Commission for Marking and Maintaining the State Border, at the same time the elected deputy of the Vetevendosje Movement, Speed Bulqi expects the demarcation agreement to be respected on both sides -- the Kosovar and Montenegrin -- although from this one has said the demarcation has ended with the signing of the agreement, writes Periskopi.
Montenegro's government has told the newspaper “Voice” that the demarcation has ended with the signing of the agreement, but the Montenegrin side has confirmed that the Joint Workers' Body will be formed, which will mark the state border.
Meanwhile, the Bulliqi Speed for Periscope has said the agreement must be respected and conditions created for the analysis of the border line as soon as possible.
The “has been signed an agreement by the country's leading leaders, so we expect the Montenegrin side to respect the two presidents' agreement as well as the agreement approved in the Parliament, and to create as soon as possible conditions can be found on the field and analyse the border lines and analyse the concessions made by then-” commissions, Bulliqi has said of Periscope.
But from Bulqi's party, Vetevendosje Movement, have said that the first thing to be done about demarcation with Montenegro, from the moment LVV comes to power, will be an investigation of all that happened with the previous commission, which was headed by Murat Meha.
Before the demarcation was voted into the Kosovo Parliament (2018), Kosovo President Hashim Thaci and his Montenegrin counterpart, Filip Vujanovic, had signed a document under which the parties agreed to form a joint working body, which would identify eventual disputes about border demarcation.
President Thaci had stated that thanks to the goodwill of the Montenegrin side and the dedication of the Kosovo leadership, “we have signed the joint declaration, which addresses all concerns of political parties and public opinion regarding the demarcation of the border line with Montenegro”.
But Bulqi's party, following the publication of the declaration signed by President Thaci and Montenegrin, has not been satisfied.
At an extraordinary media conference, VV leader Albin Kurti had indicated that the party he leads is not satisfied with the demarcation agreement, which has been published by President Hashim Thaci.
After the release of the agreement, the VV Movement has held immediate chairmanship meetings and has issued its findings that the last declaration issued by Thaci is unacceptable and misleading”, Kurti had declared.
The Kosovo Assembly in March 2018 had voted by 80 votes for the border demarcation agreement with Montenegro at a marathon session, which was interrupted several times after the fall of tear gas by the Vetvendosje Movement deputies.
Kosovo and Montenegro had signed the Demarque Agreement in 2015 in Vienna, but it could not be ratified in the Parliament after several successive smoke and gas attempts at the Assembly by Vetevendosje deputies, bringing the collapse of the government of Isa Mustafafa.
We remember that nearly two years have passed since the adoption of the agreement in the Kosovo Assembly, but so far no concrete steps have been taken towards the formation of the Workers' Body, which would deal with the borderline issue. /Periscopi/
