Can there be swings again, speak from Kosovo Seismological Institute

The director of the Kosovo Symmological Institute, as well as the head of the Geophysics and Engineering Geology Sector at the Kosovo Geological Service, Shemsi Mustafa, wants no panic in the powerful earthquakes that hit the Qyroia the morning, which felt in Kosovo as well. Mustafa in a proposal for the signal has said that powerful earthquakes like these present-day ones in Albania feel up to 400 kilometers around the era, and in this case, affect Kosovo. However, he stresses that currently, there is no danger in Kosovo.
Kosovo's “Today's morning hours have been shaken by earthquakes that hit Albania, because they have been powerful and destructive. There has been a panic in Kosovo's citizens that I have sometimes had to ask citizens not to panic because earthquakes have hit Albania and nature, in a radius of up to 400 kilometers, shake the entire region. As far as Kosovo is concerned, there is no danger right now, there is no room for panic and concern. I know that citizens are so excited by the earthquake because the earthquake is a natural phenomenon that strikes without warning, but at the moment there is no room for concern and panic”, Mustafa said.
He has told of the first actions citizens need to take after they feel shaken to avoid a eventual fatality to the maximum. Mustafa stresses that elevators and matches should definitely be avoided in such cases.
In the first seconds that citizens can feel the shocks, they should look for any objects such as the table, get inside it, and when the quakes stop, organized should go out, and the tèse wait for the recommendations of authorized officials to act and when they return. Elevator is not to be used at all. Fire, fire, and these should be avoided anyway. It should be done without panic when the shocks occur, family members should be well organized, especially those who live in collective quarters. When they get out, avoid being close to the object, for even a small earthquake can cause damage to structural elements and human consequences. A place that is open is the safest place to stay until the pitching” is stopped, Mustafa said.
Similar earthquakes, he says, can be expected again, but with the impact of lower intensity. However, Mustafa requires attention, as that the small impacts can often be what causes death.
Earthquakes can always be there, but with the background, with the lowest intensity. Even the follow - ups are dangerous because in an object with cracks, a follow - up can be very dangerous”, he points out.
According to Mustafa, great concern in our region is the seismic risk in residential buildings and objects, which usually rule out the seismic perimeter, which is very important, and in these cases even decomposing for the lives of citizens.
“As far as seismic risks are concerned, officials who are authorised should talk about -- officials who manage buildings -- officials who inspect buildings. They have to give a report on how much seismic parametry is involved in construction, because the risk of this type is unknown. Citizens do not know what buildings or objects they live in, how affordable it is to an earthquake”, Mustafa said.
As a result of constant earthquakes in the early hours of today's morning in Albania, at least 7 people have lost their lives, including a 10-year-old girl.
