This is Gerard Depardie: Milosevic was a monster, I Albania recognised by Kosovo war
Renowned French actor Gerard Depardieu, who recently became a media topic for photography with Albania's prime minister, Edi Rama, and VV leader Albin Kurti, in an interview has spoken about connection with Albania, where he added that he has known him since the Kosovo war. He has also spoken in this interview about Milosevic.
The two-day depardieu is in Albania. Subtitles: During this time, he has better recognised Albania, while also meeting with Prime Minister Edi Rama and Albin Kurtin, who is expected to form the new government in Kosovo.
He is in an interview for A2, which recognises Albania from wartime in Kosovo.
I've known Albania since the Kosovo war, when I saw Albanians crossing snow-filled mountains to come here, when there was war. It was the time of the Milosevic Monster, and that's why we're here for the film “Me and Milosevic”. We have here a Milosevic, not really, a masked actor. But I loved Albania. I like the Balkans, Albania, Serbia. I know Serbia had Milochev, but I like the country, the Balkans, not politics”, he said.
Depardieu, in Albania, has also spoken of the character playing it and how it understands the relationship between Kosovo and Albania.
He's a lawyer, but you have to ask Arben what he's going to do with this character. Because he lived the Kosovo war, and the post-war period. What I don't understand in the Kosovo triangle- Serbia-Albania, even now after the war, is that they cannot leave behind what happened and join, perhaps even in a Balkan union as I said before. It's like the history of Nazi, German, or Soviet dictatorial ideas. These are dictatorial conversations, out of fashion. They're the same Nazism, dictatorships, or the same as religious beliefs. That's why it's good to find philosophy in the faith we have”, Depardie said.
Depardieu also spoke of meeting Eddie Rama and Albin Kurti. He said they discussed the war in Kosovo, not politics.
I have met many political personalities, but I don't talk to them about politics. I came here, they invited me to dinner and I went. They told me about their places, their history, and their struggle. They were so shocked by the war, and they're all actually shocked by the war. But I think after the war you need to become strong to build a Balkan union. I hope it's this way”, he said.
The French actor, who was expelled from France a few years ago, has found refuge in Putin's Russia. He has also spoken in this interview about the passport he received from Russia, becoming a citizen of this country.
“The Netherlands expelled me from France, while Putin welcomed me. I had an interesting discussion about politics, and today I feel free to talk about everything I want. Putin's pretty smart and I feel free”
I live in Russia now, and I feel like I have the passport of the whole world. And I consider myself a citizen of the whole world. I don't judge politics. I can say that I disagree with Erdogan, as I think he's becoming another Caliph, it's very difficult, I don't understand, but I don't have what to do with politics”, he said.
“But Turkey is something else. I visited her and found a beautiful place. I studied the history of the Ottoman Empire, just like the Roman one. But now we're in 2020 and it's time for us to try to understand each other better. And that I liked about Eddie, just as I like Alexander of Serbia”, he said.
