How much will Kosovo municipalities spend on holiday season

Pristina, Mitrovica, Prizren, Ferizaj, Gjilani and Gjakova are municipalities, which this year will invest thousands of euros in receptions with colorful lights and other decorations, besides Pec, which will not spend a cent!

Portal rtv21.tv has provided figures of what the budget sharing is for end-year decorations for each municipality.

First Pristina

This year's Pristina municipality will spend about 63 thousand euros on city decorations.

This amount comes from the 1,000-euro framework contract for 36 months (3 years). In the Pristina municipality's framework contract, it becomes known that this budget is +/-30% with allowed deviation. The capital for this year's framework contract has signed with private company “Anea”.

The contract also includes details of the decorations by reasoning on the dedicated tools. Where the length of the fir, which should be up to 30 feet [10 m] long, the colors of the decorations are defined as red and white, and the maintenance of these decorations has been defined.

Mitrovica lit up 2 thousand euros

The Mitrovica municipality has so far contracted no company for the town's decoration. Director for Culture, Youth and Sports in Mitrovica, Tafil Peci, in a response to the Rtv21.tv portal, has stressed that decorating the square for the holiday season will take place in collaboration with businesses and NGOs. For the city's decoration, the maximum amount that can be divided is no more than 2 thousand euros. If they decide to support it, the maximum amount could reach as high as 2000 euros”, Peci has confirmed.

Prizren last year

This year's Prizren municipality has shared the same amount for the city's year-long holiday project and decoration. Public Relations Official in Prizren municipality Lis Dorambari for the Rtv21.tv portal has said the Prizren municipality this year has allocated a budget of 30,000 euros. According to Dorambar, tendering procedures have not yet been conducted. The Prizren municipality has so far missed no city decoration company. According to the practices of past years, the time set aside for project implementation has been 15 days. But this time it defines the Research Unit and the Accounting Manager prior to the release of the call, after analyzing the works that will be realised”, he said.

However, the Prizren municipality, even though with 30 thousand euros in budgets for light and decorations, still do not have a concrete plan. According to the municipality spokesman, the project has not yet been delivered by the projecting company. The budget, shared by Prizren's municipality, was also 30 thousand euros in 2018.

Ferizha with less money

Like Pristina, the Ferizaj municipality for the city's decoration has drafted a public Framework Convention for 36 months. Under the contract the contracted sum is 34 thousand and 224 euros. The Public Relations Official from the Ferizaj municipality, Albion Sheriff for the Rtv21.tv portal, has said that the cost of spending on the Ferizaj town decoration project for this year is approximately 12,000 euros, according to it this extremely low cost compared to previous years. The winner of Ferizaj's decoration tender is OE “N. St. Besa” The sheriff has announced that the period when the city's decoration for holiday season will be finalised is 5-10 December.
