A senior American diplomat said at hearings that President Trump directly questioned a Ukrainian investigation into his Democrat rival Joe Biden.
In previous unprecedented testimony, Bill Taylor, the leader of the US Embassy's task in Ukraine, said a member of his staff said Trump was preoccupied with the promotion of a Joe Biden investigation, broadcast the Kosovo Clan.
He was speaking at the first public hearings in investigating charges of impeachment.
Trump told reporters he did not remember making such comments. Trump has been accused of halting US military aid to Ukraine in order to pressure the country's new president to publicly declare a corruption investigation into Beden, among the favourites to take him to the 2020 presidential race.
