The guards were charged Tuesday and are expected to appear at the US District Court in Manhattan. Epstein was being held in prison while he waited for trial following sexual trafficking charges.
The court has stressed that both guards, Mr. Noel and Mr. Thomas couldn't control Epstein that night, and instead sat down at their table, looked at the internet and moved around the common area.
Also, reports following Epstein's death showed that the guards fell asleep for hours while the suspected traffickers, Epstein, were under their care.
