Council of Europe will select Kosovo-logger for dialogue on November 15th Serbia, where Russian Alexey Kondratyev is among the candidates.
Kondratyev, who is a member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, has said before Sputnik that Pristina's opposition to his election was not new, and that Kosovo's Albanian mentality should be understood first of all.
He said that since the Russian unit's entry into KFOR on Kosovo's territory, Albanians have been very negative for the Russians and have shown in every way that they are not ready for dialogue and co-operation.
During Wednesday, a large group of civil society organisations have supported an open letter, sent to the Council of Europe, calling for Russian Alexei Kondratiev not to be chosen as Kosovo Rapporteur because of his earlier actions in violation of human rights.
The open public letter says that his expression, in xenophobia terms for Kosovo, is also mentioned in the letter as controversial arguments.
The letter supported by over 40 organisations has been sent to the Council of Europe Secretary General, the president of the Parliamentary Assembly and the Committee for Political Affairs and Democracy.
