Kosovo's Tax Administration has conducted action in several different locations this week for the seizure of taxpayers' property, who have not met ATK legal requirements, in paying off debts in the set term, and have not responded to warnings that acts of mandatory tax collection will be undertaken through the seizure of property.
According to ATK, the seizure procedure in co-operation with the Kosovo Police has been developed against six taxpayers according to the preliminary plan, while the value of confiscated goods and property is 500,000 euros.
As a result of the many intensive activities the tax administration is undertaking, we have a positive trend of reducing debts that have reflected in the growth of revenues. In addition to confiscating wealth, the action in question will extend to the collection of all mandated fines, which are unpaid. Similar shares will continue during the following days, so we encourage all debtor taxpayers to carry out tax duties over time so that they do not become subject to punishments and procedure of mandatory meeting. Our focus continues to remain to increase the level of voluntary meeting of taxpayers, according to Kosovo Tax Legislation, as well as handling tax debts”, said the ATK communicate.
