Albania, Kosovo unanimously to address Serbian genocide

Minister of Task for Europe and Foreign Affairs Gent Cakaj hosted Kosovo Ambassador Nat Hasani today on the occasion of launching his mission in Albania.

Minister Cakaj congratulated Ambassador Hasani on the start of the new and very important task, as well as voiced the need for further deepening co-operation between the Republic of Kosovo and Albania.

“A very open meeting of content with the new ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo to Albania, Mr. Nat Hasani! We jointly underlined the need for creating a new moment of co-operation between the Republic of Kosovo and Albania! The deepening of relations between the two countries in the direction of creating a unified trade space and a single customs community is of special strategic and pragmatic importance. We will work closely to boost the cooperation of two states belonging to one nation at completely new levels,” says Cakay.

The need for the Republic of Albania and Kosovo to act unanimously for addressing war crimes, ethnic cleansing projects and genocide committed by Serbia in Kosovo was especially stressed during this meeting!

“Normising relations between Kosovo and Serbia also means addressing Serbia's systematic crimes to the Albanian people in Kosovo. As the unconditional supporter of the Republic of Kosovo, Albania also underlines the necessity of presenting the issue of war damages on Serbia's part. This process should be completed with the final recognition of the Republic of Kosovo by Serbia as the precondition of historical justice and regional progress,” declares Cakaj.

Another point of discussion was the need to co-ordinate political actions against Serbia's efforts to attract international recognitions of the Republic of Kosovo.

Albania will intensify its commitment to the support of the Republic of Kosovo and its further strengthening in the international arena! Joint inter-state work should be carried out under the light of the highest national ideals,” says Minister of Task for Europe and Foreign Affairs Gent Cakaj.
