In the previous two days, at the top of the country's alarming pollution list was Kumanovo, where the PM 10 particles were 35 times above the allowed rate, with over 1800 micrograms per cubic metre.
Local authorities in Kumanovo say the reason for the major pollution there is the hospital that uses the heating mazut.
The municipality announced that they were immediately beginning with aerosolisation as an urgent measure to reduce pollution while calling for central power to allocate funds for full gasification of the hospital. The Environment Ministry says measures have been taken, while more information was warned about Monday.
The deputy minister, however, said Saturday that time and long-term measures are needed to resolve the pollution problem.
There is a plan for this, of course, that we should all be aware of the fact that this problem cannot be solved at once, but that with long-term strategies. We all have to work together to reduce air pollution, we know we're going to need time because many factors contribute to this, warming households, energy efficiency, transport machines, industry contributes to this direction and we have to take measures and regulations.
We will continue to work to achieve results -- Naser Nuredinim, Minister of Life Environment, said.
The problem with polluted air is intensified every time during the winter season. Last year, the power passed preemptive public transportation measures was free, expensive for the price of parking lots, stopped all construction works, and the use of official automobiles of state institutions was limited. /Alsat.
