Serwer has doubts about Yerenelli: Will revive idea of correction of borders between Kosovo, Serbia

In a post in his blog that he wrote about the appointment of Greene, as well as an interview for the Voice of America, Cerer called the decision on the appointment of Greene for special representatives in the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue strange.

He says that, “even though Green is a diplomat and ambassador, he clearly represents the White House”.

A few weeks ago, they named Matthew Palmer as Special Representative for the Balkans. Green is higher than Palmer for two reasons: he is ambassador and has direct connections to the White House. For me it is very clear that they plan to take over the post of Special Representative for the Balkans, which means it will deal with Belgrade and Pristina. It's really weird. I think this is a warning to revive the idea of exchange of territory between Kosovo and Serbia, which is a terrible idea, which died from a natural death several months ago and is a bad plan to revive it”, has declared the Voice of America, the edition in the Serbian language.

According to Voice of America, Green is politically close to John Bolton, former advisor of Donald Trump for National Security, who last year declared that the United States would not object to an exchange of territories if Belgrade and Pristina agreed.

Some analysts also assume that Grenelli is a supporter of the idea, which Germany and Chancellor Angela Merkel strongly oppose.

Serwer believes Green will not accept Germany's arguments, but will try to impose the idea of exchange of territories.

I believe he will try to impose [the correction idea] Germany, Kosovo and Serbia, while the strongest opponents of that idea in Kosovo are Serbs living south of Ibri. It's a business to try to impose such a bad idea, but what motivates them, then, they can kill two Clinton flies with a Kosovo and Bosnia and Herzegovina shock if you want to please the White House. This will also be a confirmation of the turning point in American politics from liberal-democratic solutions based on equal rights, in the ethno-nationalist solution based on the division of ethnic groups. This is not the solution I am for, but I am afraid that the White House is determined to try to impose”, says Cerwer.

Greenell's mandate in Germany has been controversial since the beginning, when he suggested that German companies stop business with Iran, and declared to conservative media “Breitbart News” that you want to strengthen the European right.

“Grenel is in a desperate relationship with the Germans, who don't like it very much, and they see it as an American administration representative with whom they don't have particularly warm relations. If the White House wants a better relationship with Germany, the last person to choose for this process is Greenell”, says Cerer.

He suspects Granel and Matthew Palmer will be able to work simultaneously in mediation between Belgrade and Pristina.
