October, month of awareness of breast cancer

The month of awareness of breast cancer is an annual international campaign aimed at distributing information and educating people about the importance of breast health, the early discovery of breast cancer in women and girls worldwide.

Each year, this campaign begins on October 1st and ends on October 31st. The campaign is also organized to raise funds for scientific research on causes, prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of cancer. The campaign also provides information and support for women affected by breast cancer.

In 1993 the cancer research Foundation founded the pink ribbon as a symbol of breast cancer, although this was not the first time this ribbon was used to symbolize breast cancer. Since then, the pink ribbon became the international symbol of awareness of breast cancer and of the support of persons who suffered it.

Every October with hundreds of thousands of products equipped with pink ribbons, or pink colored ones, they serve as symbolic and are deliberately sold to provide a small share of the accumulated income as donations to support breast cancer research or awareness campaigns.
